A lamp inspired by Mediterranean calm, which translates the rhythm of light and shadow into an object of timeless presence.

This piece features a mechanism that allows the slats to be opened or closed, similar to a Mallorcan-style window or, more commonly, a louvered window. The metal slats are finished in brushed aluminum, giving them an elegant texture and a subtle reflection of light. When closed, the light becomes warmer and more yellowish, while when opened, it passes through unobstructed.

The idea for the lamp came after seeing how a candle reflected in wired glass and learning about Xlinespace 's "Panel Adjustable Wall Lamp." From then on, I began to have a false memory of that type of glass in my grandmother's house, which gave it a nostalgic touch that takes me back to my childhood.

I started by making some sketches to understand how the movement would work and how the light would look as it passed between the slats . Then I experimented with different materials until I found yellow wired glass, which I liked because it filters the light with a warm tone .

I made the structure from aluminum to give it rigidity and contrast with the color of the glass. The mechanism allows the slats to be raised or lowered, allowing the lamp to generate different intensities of light and shadows.

During the process, I had to adjust the joints so the pieces moved smoothly and didn't become misaligned. I also experimented with different light sources until I achieved uniform illumination.

By contacting local companies, I was able to laser cut the aluminum panels and wired glass.

The final result is a lamp that combines cold and warm materials, and that allows you to interact with the light manually, as if it were a small window .
